Posted Feb 5, 2008 - We have too many toys but after reading all those good reviews, we finally decided to get one for our son. He loves music. Besides, I really want my son play real piano later. When our baby was young, we gave him the piano without legs. He likes to pat on the keys and then "eats" them. Later when he tries to stand up, we put on the legs for him to pull himself up. My son LOVES to have it on the "music" setting. He'll push a key and dance to the music as it plays. He quickly learned to flip the pages. There are three play modes which encourage baby to enjoy music, learn basic concepts (alphabet, counting, opposites, etc.), or just play notes and chords on the eight-key keyboard. A plastic songbook (built into the piano) uses numerals on musical notation to teach aspiring musicians the correlation between the sounds they hear, the notes on the page, and the keys on the keyboard. Slides and buttons and dials can be manipulated to adjust tempo, pitch, and style, while a metronome keeps time. Also it has volume controll. There are so many activities. It is stimulating, educational and sturdy with virtually no assembly. I highly recommend this toy.
