Addonics 2 eSATA PCIe RAID Controller with support for Port Multiplier

Posted 1 year ago - This uses Silicone 3132 chip. The Sili3132 chip is software RAID NOT hardware. You can look up the 3132 briefings at the manufactor's web. Even Addonics made me think it was a HW RAID. There is no point of buying a module if it's functions are shared with the main system. It is also very slow copying my files back from it. I made a RAID5 set and did a test copy. Copying to the RAID was very satisfactory for a software RAID. But copying back the files out, it took twice as long than copying to it. Bizzar, I have other RAID card and they were always the opposite. Good for PC with out eSATA port. I wish I can return this for full refund but Provatage refund/return policy is pretty complicated. Plus they charge 15~20% re-stocking fee. Non-the-less, I shall try. Thanks for reading.
