5 Star Review Great MP3 Player

Strengths:

MP3PRO, FM Tuner, Headphone design, display, price, features

Weaknesses:

cheap looking/feeling plastic

Posted Nov 9, 2005 - Got this on Sale for $39.99. Tried it out on my Motorcycle yesterday where I usually use a CD player. Besides not having to stop and change CDs, plus the periodic 'skipping' on bumpy roads with the CD player, this was a great choice. Small, easy to use, and no skipping! Using MP3PRO format (really struggled with the SW, wish I had read about the updates before doing this myself) I was able to fit about 70 of my favorite songs on the internal memory (128MB). This gives me roughly 4 hours of music. I am buying a 1GB SD card online and this should give me another roughly 400-500 songs, or maybe 30 hours of uninterupted music! I could not see the IPOD craze when factoring in cost and utility. This was a clear choice (at the sale price). I do not know if I would pay $120 for this, but at $39, it was a great deal!

4 Star ReviewI love this thing! I know there are MP3 Players th ...

Strengths:

Price, expandable memory, easy to use, FM reception

Weaknesses:

cheap plastic design

Posted Dec 6, 2004 - I love this thing! I know there are MP3 Players that are way fancier, sturdier and have more memory but still... I really didn't want to spend more than $100 and basically needed it for listening to music during working out and on the way to and at work. The 128 MB are not much but it gets me easily through my 90 minute workout and I plan to invest $30 into an SD-card soon (which by the way also fits in my cam... that was a major thought when buying this player). I read some reviews before I installed the software so I knew to update it immediately, I did so before I even plugged in the player for the first time and it worked like a charm ever since. You don't have to use the included program to upload songs, though; windows media player works just fine. The single AA battery lasts for about 2 weeks of daily use. if you are looking for a very basic, inexpensive player that's what you're getting. I would buy it again.

1 Star Review Does not do what the website claims

Strengths:

small, expandable comes with armband

Weaknesses:

Does not shut off automatically as claimed, does not resume automatically to where it left off when last played

Posted Nov 14, 2005 - I've had two of these mp3 players with the latest firmware version. The auto off and auto resume features do not work. When I set it to shut off after 15 sec, it shuts off after a little more than 10 min. When I press play to resume, it starts at the top level folder with the first mp3. If I'm half way into an hour long podcast and press pause, it will shut off (after 10 min) but then it will NOT resume. VERY ANNOYING b/c I then get to spend the next 5 min. holding a tiny control to get back to where I was. I recommend the iRiver products instead.

1 Star Review 7 Months, now they are dying

Strengths:

Sounds good, small, light weight, SD cards work great

Weaknesses:

dont last

Posted Jul 21, 2006 - I bought 3 of these for Christmas, one for each of my two older daughters and one for myself. Its now July, mine just quit working one day?!!! So I'm looking up the warranty and it is going to be hard to get this replaced. You have to have all the original books and paperwork, receipt, case, armband, headphones, everything. Send it all to the company and they will decide if it is under warranty and replacable. So I grab my oldest daughters and borrow it:) two weeks later and it dies too..... Now I'm concerned! This is really going to be a hassle. I have everything but the receipt, it's around here somewhere I think.
