Strengths:This product is the best because of longlasting battery life and portablility.
Weaknesses:A specific charger is needed in order to shorten the charging time.
Posted Feb 27, 2004 - This product is best among the Sony infolithium batteries in series of M because of its longivity and portablility. This product is highly recommended to other consumers because it's tagged with the reasonable price. Besides that, it does have the power level display which shows the battery life by one touch.

Strengths:Charge time is very less, easily mountable on the charger and camcorder
Weaknesses:Its bit heavy to carry along with you.
Posted Apr 2, 2004 - The batter is very good in performance , it comes for almost 6 hours shooting time, I am amazed at its charging speed. its a must for camcorder lovers especially who goes on vactions. I have used the battery for 3 days without charging, its cool owning it. I strongly recommend for sony camcorder users.

Strengths:long battery life allowing long recording time;
LED indicator showing remaining power level;
super quick charge capability reducing charge time
Weaknesses:Size (too big);
Price (too expensive)
Posted Mar 14, 2004 - I bought the battery for my SONY camcorder (PC105). The battery allows much longer recording time per charge than does the standard NP-FM30 battery included in the original camcorder package. The charge time for the battery is reasonably quick with AC-VQ50 charger. However, the battery is too big for a compact camcorder like mine. It looks odd to have such a big battery installed in a compact camcorder.

Strengths:Meets the specs within 10% - that is not that common
Posted Dec 9, 2003 - It is a simple device but extremely useful for prolonged shooting with your camcorder. If you are not satisfied with 71D check 90 level battery and get one more additional hour of work.

Strengths:Very long lasting, enough power to use LCD with abandon without worrying about running out.
Weaknesses:On the large size, although still not as big as the old 8mm format camcorder batteries.
Posted Jul 7, 2004 - A welcome addition to the anemic, relatively low capacity battery included with Sony camcorders. I've not even come close to using the four hours of battery time, and I don't have to concern myself with using only the viewfinder in an attempt to conserve battery power for the low capacity battery. As stated in other reviews, it does require a separate special quick charger (Sony has a few different rapid chargers) in order to charge up this large capacity battery.

Strengths:lithium long lasting, battery power lights, sq good technology
Weaknesses:price, needs specific charger to obtain sq technology, slightly heavy
Posted May 20, 2004 - Overall I am very happy with the SONY lithium batteries. The big drawback with the NiMh batteries for camcorders is that even though there were a "no memory problem" they didn't last. These SONY batteries last long. I still recommend getting a spare battery and a separate charger. Also the SQ technology makes charging quicker with sq chargers.

Strengths:second battery is very useful, you can use one while charging the other. the charge left indicator is very useful, if used with the ACV-Q50, this battery can charge must faster.
Weaknesses:size/weight could be better, but is not too noticeable. price for this and other necessary accessories will add another $300 .
Posted Dec 21, 2003 - A second battery is a must have. I don't use the camera too often, but when I use it, the original battery lasting 60 minutes is worthless. This battery is an average size battery, plus has the additional super-charge capability. If the 250 minutes of recording time is not good enough, you can always charge one while the other is used.

Posted Apr 11, 2004 - A must for any Sony Digital Camcorder as the supplied battery is woefully short. This battery adds considerable time to your recording capability. The retail price is expensive though so shopping for the lowest price is encouraged.

Strengths:works as advertised
Posted Nov 14, 2005 - works fine, no complaints. visual indicator is a big plus. don't go for non-Sony batteries they may not work with the new Sony cameras asI have found out.

Strengths:Much longer battery life between charges. Has it's own charge meter.
Posted Jun 15, 2005 - If you can get a great price for this, then get it. It really isn't as bulky as I thought it would be. Got it for half the retail price! I thought it was too good to be true.

Strengths:Long Battery Life.
Posted Mar 1, 2005 - Very satisfied with the life of this battery. I can go on for four straight hours of shooting with LCD screen open. Vast improvement compared to the battery that comes with the camcorder. Works for a long time even with the video light working. Takes a while to charge without the SQ charger. A warning though - there are a lot of vendors selling imitations of this in similar packaging as Sony's and I have got burnt once. If you are looking for the original, look for the Sony logo sticker on the top left of the box.

Strengths:Longer lasting battery.
Weaknesses:Big and bulky once placed in the camcorder
Posted Dec 24, 2004 - I upgraded the battery after reading a lot of reviews stating that the supplied battery wouldn't give me much. So I went ahead and purchased the NPQM71D. I am thrilled to have it except for one detail...it is big and a little bulky once placed in the camcorder. Still, I don't regret the purchased considering that the 91D version is much larger.

Strengths:Excellent duration of 4-5 hours with lcd screen.
New quickcharge technology and battery life meter on the battery.
Weaknesses:Replaces the np-fm70, but is same size and weight, Would hope technology would develop longer life battery in smaller size and weight.
Posted Nov 13, 2004 - Sony is excellent in reliable batteries. When experimenting with generic brands, the Sony always outlasts in time of life and overall longevity. The meter on the battery allows you gauge time remaining without turning on the camcorder. The quickcharge technology allows a full charge in less than 1 hour!! Buy Sony!!

Strengths:Great durability & battery life
Weaknesses:a little bulky
Posted Oct 19, 2004 - Great battery and holds to advertised battery life length if only using camcorder. With attached light to my camcorder, the battery is used up quickly but is expected. The LEDs on the back of the battery work great to let you know how much life is left when not attached to your camcorder or if you don't have a info-lithium compatible camcorder.

Weaknesses:making me uncomfortable to operate my handycam.
Posted Sep 28, 2004 - Since the basic battery included in my Sony Handycam has gone too fast, I purchased this one. this one lasts longer. But the size and shape of the battery is big and thus block my hands to operate my handycam.
